The Beaches of Espoo: Karhusaari
Karhusaari beach is located by the sea at Keilaniemi, surprise, surprise Karhusaari. The historic beach is not very well known, although you can cycle here in minutes from Lauttasaari, for example.
The beach is large and peaceful, even though it is only a few hundred metres from the Länsiväylä-road. The sound of the motorway can barely be heard on the other side of the island.
The beach gradually deepens, so it's perfect for the little ones in the family. The waves can be high at times, though, the sea and everything...
The beach is easily accessible by light traffic routes. It is only a few hundred metres walk from the bus stops in Keilaniemi. Viewed from the centre of Helsinki, Karhusaari is one of the closest beaches in the area, just a stone's throw from the municipal boundary and as close as Lauttasaari casino beach.
The bathing huts evoke the seaside life of the region's manor houses. Stylish cabins, and completely different from the rest of Espoo.
This is a great place to sit and watch the sea.
