The Beaches of Lohja: Liessaari

The idyllic Liessaaren beach is located in Lohja, on the "city side" of the island of the same name. Liessaari also features a nature trail, lovely scenery, and an old mine.

In these pictures, I focus only on the beach. It seems to be a "love beach" as well.

The water is initially shallow and the sand is fine, making the beach ideal for families with children.

The island is connected to the mainland by a footbridge, under which a busy boat route runs.

The bridge is probably beautiful when lit up at night. I have only visited during daylight hours. This picture faces towards Liessaari.

The distance to Lohja's city center is about one and a half kilometers. Across the water is the Aurlahden beach, another beautiful spot.
