Viewpoints in Helsinki: Malminkartanonhuippu
Malminkartano Hill, or more commonly known as Malminkartano Landfill Hill, is located in western Helsinki. As you might expect, the views are spectacular.
Let's start with a series of photos from the top of the landfill hill. Here is a slightly zoomed view. On the left side of the image, you can see the Pasila area. Pasila is a hill, and from here you can clearly distinguish it.
It's easy to observe the direction of the wind.
This is a photo facing pretty much east.
In this photo, you can see southern Espoo: on the left, the Raatteentie and Neste towers, then the Tapiola water tower.
In this picture, on the far left is the Haukilahden water tower, then some of the tower buildings in Leppävaara, and behind that, the rest of Espoo. It's quite wooded from this angle.
Another photo session was also taking place. I didn’t disturb them.
Malminkartano Steps - The Longest Steps in Helsinki
On the eastern side, you'll find the Malminkartano fitness steps. They are the longest steps in Helsinki. I admit, my thighs started to feel it, especially since I cycled here.
There's a resting spot halfway up the stairs.
