Viewpoints in Espoo: Friisinkallio

Welcome to Friisinkallio. In Espoo's Olari, you'll find rather impressive cliffs, accompanied by a nature reserve and a swamp.

Let's start the story from lower down the slope. There are plenty of hiking trails leading to Friisinkallio.

As you head up the slope, you start to realize that impressive views are just ahead.

The early photos are from the western cliffs. There's a dip in between.

 And even a swamp.

Then, you begin to find impressive cliffs.

In the background, you can see Kuitinmäki.

The views are almost directly to the south. In the background, you can spot the high-rise buildings of Matinkylä.

In fact, there are only a few spots where you can see far into the distance. The nearby forests block much of the scenery. This could be an ideal place for an observation tower, from which you could see practically all of Espoo from just ten meters higher up.

And the Suomenoja power plant.

I visited during the first weekend of May, but it was nearly a heatwave. Thankfully, I had something to drink with me.
