The Beaches of Turku: Saaronniemi

Saaronniemi Beach is perhaps the finest in Turku and certainly one of the finest in Finland. The beach is located in the outskirts of Saaronniemi, behind Ruissalo.

The beach is actually divided into three parts. First, visitors are greeted by a lawn, a couple of beach volleyball courts, and an idyllic bay for swimming.

Water sports equipment can be rented from the kiosk at the back.

There is also lifeguard supervision.

There is a shallower area designated for children. There is a diving platform in the background.

Another beach can be found behind the visible pier in the background.

The beach also has a more impressive pier.

There are also showers. The "third" beach can be seen in the background. 

There are at least two grill shelters here.

• Tips for swimmers: The beach faces south and west. So the sun shines both during the day and in the evening. The beach deepens slowly but surely. The services are excellent.
