The Beaches of Turku: Maaria
Maarian Beach is a beautiful sandpit beach in the northern parts of Turku. It is also called the Jäkärlä Riviera.
The views from above are beautiful. From here, you can see the size of the small pond.
It is a few minutes' walk down from the parking lot above.
The beach deepens quickly. There is a narrow strip for children to swim safely. Soon after that strip, it is already a couple of meters deep.
There are changing rooms and a pier on the beach. No other services are available.
There are also quite a few rocks behind the beach. I bet these were collected here when sand was taken from the pit elsewhere.

- Tips for swimmers: Clean and fairly warm water. Sudden deepening, be careful with the little ones. The beach opens to the west, so the sun shines in the afternoon and evening.
