The Beaches of Raasepori: Padva

Padva beach is located in a remote area of Raasepori, on the Padva peninsula. The beach is beautiful and popular.

The natural west-facing beach resembles the long beaches of Hanko.

The beach gradually becomes shallow. Adults have plenty of wading space, but it is safe for children.

There's also a beach volleyball area in the shade of the forest.

There are also outhouses and large parking areas.

You can also rest on the upper sand dune.

It takes a while to drive here, depending on where you're coming from. On the way, it's worth stopping at the stunning village of Bromarv. It is astonishing and beautiful. The entire village is in a narrow spot, with the sea just 200 meters away and churches and libraries on the isthmus in between.

For me, Padva started to become a legendary place, as much as something can become legendary in one's own mind. It was often referred to as a beautiful beach, and the name itself is memorable. Many summers I planned a trip there with the kids until it was finally time to go.
