The Beaches of Helsinki: Puotila
Welcome to East Helsinki, Puotila. Located in Vartiokylänlahti, Puotila beach is quite urban, with metro trains passing nearby.
These photos are from mid-June. The sun was shining and it was warm, but the sea hadn't gotten the memo that the water should be summer-warm.
There is a nice grassy area next to the beach for lounging, and a bit further back, there's even more space to relax on the grass.
Services are quite good, with changing rooms, showers, toilets, a volleyball court, and a playground available.
Here are some local exotic features. Directly across the bay is Rastila beach. The distance from beach to beach is about 300 meters.
Vartiokylänlahti continues for over a kilometer to the north.
